Cory Hemberger, 16, of Middletown Township, was playing hockey with his friend Shawn on the frozen Lake Afton in Yardley and were getting ready to leave when they noticed a young boy who had fallen through the ice around 5 p.m. Sunday, 6abc reports.
Soon after, the 13-year-old victim's friend, who had been leaning in to grab him, fell in as well. That's when Hemberger stepped in with his hockey stick and dragged the two to safety.
One of the youngsters' moms turned to Facebook in search of the "boy with long blonde hair" she wasn't able to thank for saving her son in a situation that "could've turned out much worse."
Comments flooded on a repost of Kelly Brennan's post, calling Hemberger a "hero" and a "quality young man."
